Short story...
In the late 80:s Lars Chriss and Kay Backlund formed Lions share, the band won a competition for rock-bands and it was after that they released their first single called "Ghost town queen". After a some problems in the band they split-up.
Lars
and Kay wanted to give the band a new chance so they started to search new
members.1993 the band reformed with more heavy sound (influences of bands like
Queensr˙che, Dream theater, Megadeth,
Black sabbath) and a new line-up…
Lars Chriss (guitar), Andy Engberg (vocals), Kay Backlund (keyboard), Johan
Koleberg (drums) and Andy Loos (bas). A year later they released their first
album called "Lion's share". That
record have sold about 30-40 000 ex all around the world. The next thing to do
was to record an old Judas Priest song called "a touch of evil" for
the album "A tribute to Judas Priest vol 1" with band like Saxon,
Helloween, Gamma ray, Rage etc. At
this moment LS lived on the road, just before they released the second album
"two" 1997 they went out to a European tour supporting the metal
legends Saxon. On this tour they had a new bass player Pontus Egberg). After the
release of "Two" they went out on another European tour with Nevermore
and Iced Earth. Lion's share also did a new tour with Saxon, one with the old
Accept singer Udo Dirkschneiders new band U.D.O, 2 gigs with Dee Snider (ex
twisted sister) and a lot of festival shows like Sweden rock festival together
with Dio, Scorpions, Davis Lee Roth, Manowar, Deep purple etc.
The last tour the they did was a big Scandinavian tour called Monster of
millenium were they supported Dio, Motörhead and Manowar. They have just
released their new album "Fall From Grace" (Buy the record….it kick
ass!!!) LS them-selves think that it's their greatest album ever (I agree).
